A sculptural dialogue between ancient Egyptian craftsmanship and modern Scandinavian design, this Seeba lamp features hand-carved brown alabaster from Upper Egypt and solid maple legs, charred using the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique. The deep blackened wood contrasts with the warm, earthy stone.
Inspired by deep-sea forms, the alabaster emits a soft, moonlike glow, while the charred base adds a grounded, tactile presence.
For centuries, alabaster was revered in ancient Egypt, used to craft vessels that stood the test of time. Today, we honor that tradition by continuing its craftsmanship—each piece is hand-carved by artisans in Upper Egypt—while reimagining it in a contemporary form.
Each piece is one of a kind—natural variations in hue, veining, and form make every lamp unique.
